A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing earlier this week.
Dazhyar Aziz, 27, appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife in a public place.
The charges relate to an alleged incident where police descended on Yarm Road, in Stockton, on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 3.40pm and resulted in the road being closed for some time while investigations were carried out.
A man in his 30s suffered stab wounds and was transported to hospital fro treatment.

Due to the serious nature of the alleged offences, the case was transferred to Teesside Crown Court where a plea and trial preparation hearing is expected to take place on Thursday, September 15.
Aziz of St Pauls Court, Stockton, was remanded in custody until the next hearing.
No pleas were entered during the short hearing.
