A man was bitten several times by a dog after a fight broke out between two dog walkers.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses or CCTV in relation to the incident that took place in Scarborough at around 12.50pm on Wednesday, August 17.

It happened on Manor Road, near to the bridge in the park, as a man was walking his dog when he was approached by another dog who was off its lead.

A fight broke out between the dogs and as the man attempted to separate them, the owner of the loose dog approached.

A physical and verbal altercation between the two male dog owners then took place.

During the fight, the reportee suffered a number of dog bites to his hands and arms.

Officers are requesting any witnesses to come forward and speak to them, so they can establish the full circumstances around the incident.

They’d particularly like to speak to anyone who may have captured phone, doorbell or CCTV footage.

They would also like to speak to the owner of the dog who was off-lead.

He is described as being around 5ft 11in tall, with blond spiky hair and was wearing denim.
