Police are investigating after man on a pedal bike kicked a woman into a wall and robbed her purse.
It happened in Middlesbrough at around 12.30pm on Tuesday (August 16) at the junction of Marton Burn Road and Keith Road.
The victim, a woman in her thirties, was walking on Keith Road and as she approached the junction she felt a kick to her back which caused her to stumble into a wall.
A male on a bicycle then grabbed her purse from her coat pocket, containing cash, a bank card and a driving licence.
The suspect then cycled away towards Saltersgill Avenue.
He is described as a male, around 5ft 9” tall, of slim to medium build and wearing a black Under Armour tracksuit and a face covering, possibly a balaclava.
The suspect was on a matt grey mountain bike which had black wheels and a distinctive illuminous yellow and orange seat.
Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the suspect, or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage which may assist the investigation, is asked to contact Detective Constable Itsharm Ramzan from Middlesbrough CID on 101, quoting incident number 145235.
