A 27-year-old man is to appear in court today charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife after he stabbed a man in his 30s.
The incident happened at around 3.40 on Tuesday, August 16 and resulted in a large police presence in the area.
A cordon was soon erected on Yarm Road and the road was closed for a number of hours while enquiries continued in the area.
It was later revealed that Great North Air Ambulance was called to the scene and one man had been rushed to a major trauma unit in hospital after receiving stab wounds.

Police confirmed the next day that a man in his 30s had been stabbed following a serious assault and a 27-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
The man remained in stable condition in hospital as of yesterday morning.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team have today charged a 27-year-old man with attempted murder and possession of a knife in a public place.
The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today.
