Temporary traffic lights will in place on a busy Darlington road from today to enable gas pipe works to be carried out.
Northern Gas Networks (NGN) will be replacing ageing metal pipework with new, more durable plastic pipes on Haughton Road at the junction of Alexander Street.
The work starts on Monday, August 15 and is expected to last all week until Friday, August 19.
Multi-way lights will be in place on Haughton Road at the junction and while the majority of the work will be carried out in the street, engineers will need to access some homes to complete the project.
James Knox, business operations lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works.
