A main road in a North East town remains closed this morning (Friday, August 12) following a building fire in the early hours of the morning resulting in two casualties.
The fire started at around 3.02am this morning at a property on Dovecot Street in Stockton.
The blaze seemed to have spread to a roof space and the roof collapsed in on itself soon after.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene and the road was closed and has remained closed for some time.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade revealed that 90 percent of the flat affected had been damaged by the fire.
However, they also revealed that although one person had been rescued there were two casualties, and oxygen therapy was given to the rescued casualty.
