Holidaymakers in the North East will have one more destination to choose from as another sunny location has been added from Newcastle Airport.
Jet2 already operates to dozens of locations across the EU from the North East and has flights all year round.
From flights to the Canary Islands to Turkey, the travel operator is one of the most popular in the region.

But it has today announced a brand new route to coincide with its new Winter Sun programme that is currently on sale.
Weekly flights to Malta will begin in November next year, adding to the nearly 50 flights per week to these destinations from Newcastle Airport.
Nick Jones, Chief Executive of Newcastle International Airport said: “Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ increased winter 2023/24 schedule demonstrates the airline’s ongoing commitment to the region and confidence in the North East’s largest airport.
"This announcement recognises strong demand for travel in the region and the extension of Jet2.com’s Malta service into November and March/April is a welcome addition, providing the North East with even more choice into the winter season.”

- Palma (up to two weekly services)
- Antalya (up to three weekly services)
- Faro (up to four weekly services)
- Paphos (weekly services)
