Neighbours have spoken of their shock after a murder investigation was launched following the death of a man in his 60s.
Cleveland Police remain at the scene of the incident after being called out in the early hours of yesterday morning (August 8).
Fire crews and ambulance crews also attended the block of flats at Helmsley House in Guisborough, from around 2.20am, where the body of the man was discovered.
Local residents are unclear about exactly what has happened but they say a number of rumours are circulating amongst the close-knit community.

One woman, whose home overlooks the block of flats, said: “The police have been there since the early hours – I haven’t slept for two days now.
“We don’t really know what has happened but people are saying that he was shot or stabbed – we just want to know what has happened for our own safety.”
Customers at the nearby shop were also speculating about what had happened in the early hours of the morning.
One man, who didn’t want to be identified, said: “It was quite a shock to see all the police activity yesterday and they are still there today. No one seems to know what has happened but we know some people have been arrested.”
Two men, aged 43 and 47, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 45-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They currently remain in police custody.
