The funeral of a devoted married couple who were tragically killed in a car crash will be held later this month.

Susie and Tony Wilson, who were both 80 and originally from the Bishop Auckland area, died after a crash in Lolworth, Cambridgeshire.

The Fiat Punto they were in collided with a BMW M3 on the A1307 on shortly after 3pm on July 23.

The pair, who lived nearby in the village of Swavesey, tragically died at the scene of the crash.

The 35-year-old driver of the BMW from Rowley Regis in the West Midlands was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are now under investigation by Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

Funerals for Mr and Mrs Wilson will be held at Huntingdon Crematorium on 24th August at 2.30pm.

An obituary notice place in the pages of the Northern Echo said: “Devoted husband and wife of 60 years and loving parents of Anthony.

“Cherished grandparents to Leah and Anna, and beloved great-grandparents to Evie and Elliott.

“Susie and Tony will be dearly missed and remembered by all their family, friends and the traveller community.”
