Footage of the shocking moment a gang of off-road bikers rode past police officers pulling wheelies has been condemned online after it was shared on social media to numerous comments branding the group ‘dangerous’ and ‘moronic’.
In the video, which was shared on Twitter and Facebook on Sunday (August 7), around 70 bikers could be seen riding over pavements, pulling wheelies, and revving their engines as they drove next to a police car with its blue lights on.
The sharing of the footage comes after numerous complaints over the weekend, which saw concerned residents in Middlesbrough and Redcar complain about the ‘never ending’ issue of the off-road bikers, which includes the motorists driving over pavements, pulling wheelies, and flouting road laws.

According to residents on Ormesby Road in Middlesbrough, the situation with off-road bikers isn’t “unique” after some people living in the area saying that they have been constantly bothered by the motorcyclists.
After the footage was shared online, people were quick to condemn the actions of the off-road bikers, with one person saying: “I had to drive through them all yesterday, they were coming from all directions. Felt really threatening, couldn’t wait to get away and past them,” while another added: “All the bikes should be seized it's ridiculous people should feel threatened by them.”
Alongside the anger of residents, Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston has called the individuals involved “morons”, while claiming that the town is being “terrorised” by this kind of driving.

On his official Twitter account, Mr Preston has shared images of some of the bikers, while saying: “We Need Arrests
“Moron bikers terrorised decent people today - putting lives at risk
“They rode all over town causing mayhem, people will know those responsible and we need people’s help to track them down
“If you know anyone involved, please email me: mayor@middlesbrough.gov.uk.”
Since the circulation of the footage online, Cleveland Police has moved to reassure residents that they are taking action.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the police force has said: “Police are aware of a large group of people riding off-road bikes after several reports of antisocial driving in both Middlesbrough and Redcar.
“Officers are in attendance and will take appropriate action wherever possible.
“Anyone with information regarding the identity of those riding off-road bikes illegally or anyone who may be storing off-road bikes is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101.”
