A mountain rescue team was mobilised to help a walker who had injured her leg near Roseberry Topping.
Shortly after 1pm today (August 8), the Yorkshire Ambulance Service contacted the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team regarding a woman who had fallen and injured her lower leg whilst walking near to the old shooting lodge below Roseberry Topping.
Team members were alerted and headed to an RV-point at a nearby farm whilst others went to their base to collect the rescue Land Rovers.
However, just over ten-minutes later one of the team managed to make contact with the casualty by phone and was told some friends had helped her down the paths and they were intending to transport her to hospital.
A rescue Land Rover crew met her at Newton car park below Roseberry Topping, where they gave her pain relief and splinted her ankle before her friends took her to hospital for further checks and treatment.
