A Middlesbrough man admitted wrongfully holding onto over £4,000 in credit that was mistakenly made to his account.
Ryan Thompson had his case heard at Cleveland Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 29.
He was charged with three counts of retaining a wrongful credit when he was issued over £4,000 in credit he was not entitled to.

On one occasion he was issued £1,525, on another occasion he was issued £1,475.52 and on another occasion he was issued £1,525.
Thompson dishonestly failed to take steps to cancel the credit that he received and was charged as a result.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was made to complete 450 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
He was also made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.
