A fallen tree shut a main route between Darlington and Northallerton this morning (Friday, July 29).
The large tree had fallen onto the A167 at Great Smeaton and shut the road both ways from The Black Bull Inn to Hambleton Court.
It caused congestion in the area during rush hour as motorists were forced to turn around and find alternative routes.
North Yorkshire Council workers were sent to the scene to clear the tree off the road and have confirmed the A167 is now fully reopen to traffic.
