Police have reassured members of the public that a man spotted cycling naked on a tandem bike through the North-East was taking part in a charity bike ride.
Officers reacted after the man, riding with a fully clothed woman, were seen on numerous occasions as they passed through the region this week.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm we received a call about a man and woman cycling through Amble and that the man was not wearing any clothes.
“The cyclists were spoken to and it was established the pair were taking part in a charity bike ride.”

Earlier this week. people on the roads of Teesside got a bit of an eyeful when the man, on a tandem bike was spotted making his way through the streets of Stockton, wearing nothing more than a helmet.
He was transporting was videoed casually pedaling into the Low Worsall area at 11.15am, before being spotted in Yarm 15 minutes later.
After a long bike ride, they were finally sighted around the Stillington and Bishopton areas of Stockton.
Later that day a father was surprised at seeing the couple cycling through Coxhoe, near Durham.

Macauley Underwood was with his five-year-old son Leighton, who exclaimed: “Dad I can see his bum bum.”
Most of the reaction on social media has been good natured.
It is understood there is a team of four people on two tandems going in opposite directions from Lands End and John O Groats, raising money for Rewilding Britain and Mind.
