Vandals who have damaged a bandstand on one of Darlington’s parks have been slammed as “mindless and selfish.”
A section of metal railing from the bandstand in North Lodge Park appears to have been cut away.
Darlington Borough Council and the town’s MP Peter Gibson were both united in condemning the action.

Councillor Andy Keir, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for local services said “This type of anti-social behaviour is mindless and completely selfish. A community area is just that – an area for all members of the community to enjoy. Unfortunately, a mindless minority of egotistic individuals are spoiling amenities and much loved green spaces for others and must be stopped.
“If you see anybody acting in an antisocial manner please report it and support us in our efforts to put a stop to further damage.”
