A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "Please expect delays.

"Use alternative routes where possible."

An incident on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire has also caused rush hour delays this morning.

A car needed a tyre change between junctions J48 Boroughbridge and J49 Dishforth which led to the closure of the inside lane northbound.

As rush hour traffic built up, the incident caused queuing traffic along the affected stretch of the A1 northbound.
