A further appeal has been made by officers investigating a crash which has left a man in his 60s in critical condition.

The man, who was riding a scooter on the A19 near the A689 Wolviston junction on Sunday, suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Officers have issued a fresh appeal because they could like to speak to anyone who may have seen the scooter travelling at slow speed or stationary.

The crash happened on the northbound carriageway, about one mile before the A689 Wolviston junction.

The incident happened at around 1.45pm and involved a white Mitsubishi Outlander and a cream and green coloured motor scooter.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen the scooter travelling at slow speed or stationary.

The rider of the scooter, a man aged in his sixties, suffered serious injuries and remains in a critically ill condition at James Cook University Hospital.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and he has now been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
