A Dales brewery is selling pints of its flagship cask beer for just £1.29 in celebration of Yorkshire Day and its 30th birthday.

To celebrate Yorkshire Day on August 1, Black Sheep Brewery will sell pints of its Black Sheep Best Bitter for £1.29 all day on Sunday July 31 and Monday August 1 in a nod to their 30th anniversary.

£1.29 was the price of a pint of Best Bitter back in 1992 when Black Sheep Brewery was founded, so they hope to generate some nostalgia amongst their customers for the event.

Charlene Lyons, CEO of Black Sheep Brewery, said: “These events are two of the biggest in our calendar – Yorkshire Day and our 30th birthday – so it felt only right that we mark the occasions the best way we know how!

“We’re incredibly proud of our Yorkshire heritage, so we can’t wait to join our customers in raising a pint to God’s Own Country this Yorkshire Day.

"And while we’re at it, we hope our customers will also raise a glass with us to celebrate our 30th birthday.

“With the current economic challenges facing consumers, we hope that this offer will provide our loyal customers with some relief from the rising cost of goods we’re seeing in day-to-day life and allow them to enjoy a welcome pint at a welcome price.”

The Yorkshire Day offer is part of Black Sheep Brewery’s year-long celebrations to mark its 30th anniversary.

Each month, the brewery has released a new, seasonal cask beer – it’s biggest range yet.

The brewery has also embarked on a mission to encourage more people to Drink Cask Beer – having worked with the likes of TV comedian Maisie Adam to challenge the stereotypes of the drink.
