Land Rover Defender specialist Twisted will once again be opening its gates for an open day this summer, after the last two years’ events were cancelled due to the pandemic.

Hundreds of fans and families will be welcomed to the firm's Thirsk factory to gain an exclusive insight into what goes into the making of a Twisted Defender.

The open day takes place on Sunday July 31, when an array of fully built Defenders and vehicles at various stages of the build process will be among the attractions.

The company has recently launched its first electric model, the T-VE Defender, which has been two years in development, and is its electric solution for those who want to be greener.

In April, it also launched two new powertrains; the T-V8, the fastest Defender ever to leave its factory, and the T-VS, its first ever turbo-charged petrol engine.

This year’s open day provides a great opportunity to find out more about these vehicles and the business, with members of the Twisted team on hand to give tours of the workshop and answer questions about the build process.

The gates open at 9am and the fun continues until 2pm.

The event is free to attend without a ticket and there will be food and drink available as well as a DJ, tombola and other entertainment throughout the day.

There is plenty of on-street parking around the site.

Twisted Automotive managing director Charles Fawcett said: “We’ve really missed this event the last couple of years, so it’s an absolute pleasure to host another open day for customers, fans and local residents.

"It’s such a unique opportunity to bring local communities together, providing a wonderful day out for all the family while celebrating automotive excellence.

“It’s one of our biggest public events in the calendar and we look forward to welcoming new and old faces to make this the biggest and best open day yet.”
