A new Tex-Mex restaurant has opened in Darlington and is proving a hit so far.
Cheeky Ranchos opened on Northgate on July 1 and has been providing a taste of Mexico, via Texas, to the people of Darlington.
Brothers Peter and Wayne Sedgwick are the owners and so far are very pleased with the reception the restaurant has had.
The all-you-can-eat buffet offers a range of Tex-Mex food including chilli con carne, chicken wings and ribs.

Also on offer is a traditional Sunday lunch every week with all the trimmings.
For those who prefer takeaways to dining in restaurants, Cheeky Ranchos is also on Just Eat, Deliveroo and UberEats.
Since the closure of Voodoo Café in 2021, which had been Darlington’s only Latin-themed eatery, Cheeky Ranchos has now filled the gap in the market.
Wayne said: “We knew we wanted to do something with this space and one day I was eating Tex-Mex and just thought, why don’t we do that?”

Peter said: “We’re happy with how it’s going so far. It’s been a lot of hard work though but people seem to be enjoying it.
“We don’t know of anything similar in the area so we’re bringing a bit of Mexico to Darlington.”
The restaurant has a homely feel with Mexican-themed décor including sombreros, Frida Kahlo cushions and ponchos for anyone who wants to fully commit to the Mexican theme.
If spicy food isn’t your cup of tea, there are other options available including lemon and herb chicken wings.
With a choice of breakfast, lunch or dinner, no one will be going hungry at Cheeky Ranchos.
With a fully-stocked bar and pool table, this place is also an option for just a casual drink.
As so many hospitality businesses in Darlington bit the dust during the pandemic, new places opening can only be seen as a positive for the town.
The restaurant is open Friday to Sunday from 8:30am until 10pm.
