As the cost-of-living crisis continues across the UK, all major supermarkets are pulling out the stops to help bring people who are struggling money-saving schemes.

The cost-of-living crisis is bringing steep rises in energy bills, food, petrol and more and doesn’t look to be letting up anytime soon.

Details on the discounts have been revealed on a special government website and are all part of the Government’s Help for Households campaign.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the plan was aimed at helping families across the UK who are “feeling the pinch.”

Which retailers are taking part in the offer?

Asda:

Supermarket giant Asda are extending their scheme to allow children to buy a meal for £1.

Kids aged 16 and under are able to get a hot or cold meal for a quid at any time of the day in Asda cafes across the UK.

The deal runs for every day of the week and parents and guardians don’t have to buy a meal as part of it either.

It was running through the summer holidays, however it seems it will now last until the end of 2022.

Hayley Tatum, Asda chief corporate affairs and people officer, said the move offer would be “extended to all cafes across the UK until the end of the year.”

Morrisons:

Morrisons have gone a small step further in helping families with the cost-of-living crisis and are providing children with a free meal when a parent or guardian buys and adult meal.

The deal applies as long as parents buy an adult meal worth £4.99 or more in the store.

It also stipulates that the free meal has to be a chilled kids snack pack or come straight from Morrisons’ kids menu.
