TEESSIDE Hospice opened it’s new charity shop on Yarm High Street with Boro midfielder Riley McGree cutting the ribbon.
The Australian was the star guest to unveil the new shop after months of refurbishment work. The shop welcomed plenty of new customers in from the high street and plenty of donations with all proceeds and donations going towards the hospice.
“It’s a massive privilege to be down here at the Teesside Hospice charity shop representing the club” said McGree.
“Not only representing the club but on a personal note, being able to represent and be the face of this is awesome and an honour.
He continued: “We encourage anyone and everyone to come down and support these things. People in these situations are going through tough times and whatever you can give is a great help.
Fresh from scoring in Boro’s 3-0 friendly win over Morecambe the night before, McGree bought some items of clothing and made some donations towards the hospice.
“I’m going to go in there, have a look around and make some donations myself” added McGree who helped himself to two shirts from the shop.
