The idea that today will be the last day of a record-breaking heatwave that has swept across the country will be welcome to news to many, whereas others will be sad to see the hot weather go.

Currently, we are set for the hottest day ever today, with many areas, even in the North East, set to see temperatures close to, or even above, 40c.

However, it’s not set to last, with today being the last day to enjoy the scorching temperatures.

According to The Met Office, the amber warning for extreme heat will be in place all day today ending at 11:59pm.

However, this doesn’t seem to be when the heatwave will officially end as temperatures are set to be higher than normal even into the early hours of the morning.
