A new retro gaming arcade bar will open in Newcastle city centre next month.
The NQ64 gaming bar will open on Pilgrim Street in the city centre on Friday August 5 with retro arcade games, music, a bright neon aesthetic and signature cocktails.
Visitors can expect R&B and hip-hop music and about 30 arcade gaming machines including classics like Pac Man, Space Invaders and Guitar Hero.

It will have a similar vibe and neon aesthetic to its other venues across the UK with owners promising popular games, drinks, snacks, two bars and a photo booth.
Bosses say the new venue ‘promises to have a game and drink for everyone and every occasion’.
Work has been underway at the Pilgrim Street location in the former Intermezzo bar with doors set to open for the first time next month.
It will be open seven days a week, opening at 4pm Monday to Friday and at 12pm on weekends, and will be open until 2am most nights.

Speaking previously NQ64 co-founder, Matthew Robson, said: “Being a born and bred Geordie, opening in Newcastle is particularly special for me, and my mum.
“I hope NQ64 will bring a different offering to the city. We specialise in retro gaming and combine it with a banging drinks selection with a backdrop of classic hip-hop tunes. See you at the bar.”
The company already runs eight venues across the country with spots in Manchester, Soho, Glasgow, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Liverpool but the Newcastle bar will be bigger as the first to be set across two floors.
Entry to the bar will be free with no books and gaming fans will be able to buy 15 game tokens for £8, with most games taking just 1 token to play.
