Pubs and bars across the country have been listed as regional winners in the Pub and Bar Awards 2022.

Two of these 20 pubs include The Punch Bowl Inn in North Yorkshire for Yorkshire and the Humber, and The Three Mile in Gosforth, Tyne and Wear, for the North East.

The Punch Bowl is located in the quaint North Yorkshire village of Marton-cum-Grafton, just six miles from Knaresborough.

Although the pub boasts an impressive menu including Sunday lunch, it is also a laid-back environment to just enjoy a drink.

The menu changes seasonally so that diners have a culinary exploration of what Yorkshire has to offer.

Duty manager, Eva Bastow, said: “It’s a privilege to win this award. We’re really proud and the feedback we usually get is great so for everyone to know that is such a positive for us.

“A lot of our workers are from the village so there is a real sense of community here. Our chefs are also local.”

Explaining what makes The Punch Bowl stand out from the crowd, Eva said: “Customers get a very warm welcome here. It’s a really cosy pub and it just had a nice atmosphere.”
