HUGE crowds of people are expected in Durham City on Friday evening as part of Durham City Run Festival.
With distances of 5k and 10k, races will started on Durham Racecourse, finishing on Millenium Square.
There will be a rolling road closure programme to minimise disruption.
People are being advised that bus routes will be affected and diversions will be in place.
Races start at 7pm and road closures will be in place for 4pm.

What about those who live in the area?
Marshals will operate at all key junctions and wherever possible will allow access for residents when it is safe to do so.
Access for emergency vehicles to all areas will be maintained at all times.
Where is best to park the car?
Durham Park and Ride Service will be running for the event.
There are two dedicated event car parks, Belmont DH1 1SR and Sniperley DH1 5RA.
The service is free for runners on showing your race number. The normal charge of £2 will apply for spectators. Under 16s are free if accompanied by an adult over 21.
Belmont Park and Ride site will be open until 10pm on Friday July 15 to help people with their journeys to and from the Durham City Run.
There is also available parking at Prince Bishops Shopping Centre (normal charges apply).
You will not be able to leave between 7pm-7.45pm due to the road closures.
There is also free parking at County Hall.
