Come Dine With Me: The Professionals is set to come to the North East again on Thursday (July 14) evening as three restaurants compete for a big cash prize.

The new spin-off of the popular Channel 4 show sees three pairs of restauranteurs competing against each other and rating one another’s venues with a cash prize of £1,000 up for grabs for the winner.

Thursday’s episode will see the show come to the North East as three more restaurants take part.

The show will feature Steph and Daimon from Savoury Fix at Hetton Lyons Cricket Club, Andy and Charlie from Asian Fusion restaurant River Beat on the Gateshead Quayside, and Marc and Mark from Caboose on the Blyth Quayside.

The restauranteurs compete over three nights where they host each other at their restaurants, trying to wow they guests with their food and service.

The new series started at the end of last month (Monday June 27), based on the fan-favourite show which has been running since 2005.

It is the second time the show will have visited the North East after an episode on Monday July 4.

Northumberland Fish and Chip restaurant Balls of Prudhoe came out on top in the July 4 episode, securing the £1,000 prize having beaten off Namaste Indian restaurant in Sunniside, and American-themed restaurant Pigalos in North Shields.

The episode caused a stir online after Narrator Dave Lamb was criticised by viewers for his pronunciation of the famously-hard-to-pronounce town of Prudhoe, having opted for ‘Proodhoe' instead of the local pronunciation of 'Prudah'.
