The 163rd instalment of The Great Yorkshire Show has just begun – with thousands of people starting to file into Harrogate Showground on Tuesday (July 12) morning to see everything the world of agriculture and the region has to offer.

The four-day event, which will end on Friday (July 15), and celebrates farming, food and countryside, is expected to be the biggest ever event.

However, the question on many people’s lips might be how the weather will be at the Showground – will it be sunny, cloudy or a complete wash-out?

With the weather hitting record highs in other parts of the UK so far over the last few days, crowds travelling to the iconic event will be hoping for the highs of 25/26 degrees seen on Monday (July 11) will continue into today.

According to the Met Office, Tuesday will start largely cloudy day but with some hazy sunshine and continuing to feel very warm.

While it will be dry for most of the day, there will be an odd spot of light rain at times, with temperatures reaching 26 °C.

Alongside the forecast for Tuesday, The Met Office has predicted that it will be a sunny day again on Wednesday but feeling somewhat fresher.

It will be generally dry but isolated showers are possible at points.

Thursday and Friday will see bright spells and occasional showers, so the visitors to The Great Yorkshire Show can expect mostly great weather.
