Thousands of music fans are expected to descend on Chester-le-Street on Wednesday (July 6) night as Michael Bublé plays the Seat Unique Riverside stadium.

The Durham cricket ground is set to be packed out with over 11,000 fans attending the much-awaited gig, which has been put back from 2020 following the Covid pandemic.

Event organisers have urged ticketholders to plan their journeys in advance and leave plenty of time to arrive at the stadium as they expect areas around the site to be ‘extremely busy’.

Extra transport is also being put on for the event to ensure everyone can make it to the Riverside in time for the gig starting.

Parking will be available at the venue with a parking permit available for £10 per vehicle and car parks open from 1pm. Concertgoers are being encouraged to book these in advance online as space is limited.

Fans have also been told not to park in the residential areas around the stadium.

A park and ride service will also be running for the gig setting off from the Rainton Meadows Arena with busses to the Seat Unique Riverside running at regular intervals until 8.30pm, and again after the concert has finished.

Concertgoers wishing to use the park and ride will be able to do so from 4pm and will have to pay a £3 per person fare for the return bus journey.

Chester-Le-Street train station is just a 20-minute walk away from the Riverside Stadium and is served by Northern Rail, Cross Country and Trans Pennine Express train services.

The last train from Chester-Le-Street heading south to Durham leaves at 22:33.

The final train heading north departs at 23:16.

The nearest bus stop to the Riverside is Market Place, at the Black Horse and is just a 5–10-minute walk away. It is just 2 stops away from the main bus station in Chester-Le-Street at Market Place.
