A North East driver has been left with a hefty fine of over £800 and had his license endorsed with six points after failing to pass over information to police officers when he was stopped.
Gareth Unsworth, 50, of Kirkham, Biddick, Washington, allegedly failed to give police officers information when his Mercedes was pulled over on March 23 this year in Spennymoor, County Durham.

Unsworth appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Friday (July 1), where it was proved in his absence that he had failed to comply with instructions given by officers.
He was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66, costs of £90, and his driving record was endorsed with six points.
Another charge he faced in court for speeding was dropped.
