A once-popular eatery is set to reopen under new owners as signs have been spotted going up outside the restaurant.
The former Lau's 202 Buffet in Newcastle closed down before the Covid pandemic and has remained boarded up with letters pilling in the doorway ever since.
But signs promising patrons an "ultimate" buffet experience and what to expect from the Newgate Street venue have been installed.

Serving up a mix of world cuisine, Cosmo Restaurants, which was founded in 2003 and has restaurants across the UK, says it is coming soon.
The "all-you-can-eat" chain already has restaurants in locations including Manchester, Sheffield and Wolverhampton.
On its website, the chain says it is inspired by the best five-star hotels in the world and brings a "choice of fresh" food under the same roof.
The chain's menu includes a range of steak, seafood, Chinese, carvery and deli dishes as well as free-flow drinks, a chocolate fountain and homemade cakes.

Plans for the new site were submitted to Newcastle City Council earlier this year and included black and gold signage on its exterior.
So far an opening date has not been announced but it is thought it will open later this year.
