The Teesside pub caught up in an investigation into a shooting incident which saw bullet holes left in its door and window has issued a statement.

Police cordoned off a section of Norton High Street just outside the Bank TS20 pub after the firearms incident last night.

According to reports, the shooting took place shortly after midnight and saw a pair of bikers drive past the pub while discharging a firearm.

The cordon was in place for much of the morning while officers investigated the scene and was finally lifted at around 11am.

Enquiries are still ongoing and no arrests have been made. However, Cleveland Police are calling for witnesses of the incident to get in touch.

Bank TS20 said it has now reopened.

They added: “Dear customers, unfortunately, last night an incident occurred where damage was inflicted to the outside of the pub.

“The incident took place after we were closed and luckily no one was in the building or hurt.”

It also confirmed that the matter was not related to any staff, the owner or the business itself.

The statement added: “The matter is being dealt with by the appropriate authorities.”
