A MAN carrying a knife and a knuckleduster was arrested after he got into dispute in a pub before being thrown out.
Anton Ramsbottom was asked to leave the White Heifer That Travelled pub in Darlington before the police arrived to arrest the 50-year-old.
Teesside Crown Court heard how the defendant had suffered a serious head injury and he would need a medical report before he could be sentenced after pleading guilty to two offences from the events of August 28 last year.
Glenn Gatland, representing the defendant, urged the judge to have a pre-sentence report prepared to enable his client time to have an updated medical report compiled.
Ramsbottom, of Tillage Green, Darlington, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife and possession of an offensive weapon – the knuckleduster – when he appeared in court for a short hearing.

Judge Christopher Smith agreed to adjourn the case until next month but wanted the sentencing hearing to take place as quickly as possible for the defendant’s benefit.
He said: “He wants to know what is going to happen in this case and if I adjourn for a long period of time that is a long period for him to be worrying.”
Ramsbottom will next appear at court on July 18 when he will be sentenced.
