A pub music festival that has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes since 2014 is returning after a two year break.
Cowtonbury was founded Beth Robinson, landlady of The Beeswing Inn at East Cowton, back in 2014 as a way to raise funds to thank Macmillan and the Friarage Hospital for the care they gave her mum after a breast cancer diagnosis.

The one-day festival features a host of live acts in the grounds of the Beeswing and proceeds go towards projects to enhance the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.
The 2019 festival - the last before Covid forced cancellations in 2020 and 2021 - enjoyed a record attendance, with 600 people flocking to the event.
This year's festival takes place on Saturday, July 30 from 1pm and acts on the bill include The Fix, Eric Hynes, and Mis-Shapes.
Since its foundation, Cowtonbury has raised almost £100,000 for good causes
In recent years, funds have gone towards palliative care services at Friarage, helping to create tranquil spaces around the hospital for patients and families to escape the clinical environment.
Cowtonbury organisers agreed with the hospital board to manage the projects themselves, ensuring that all the funding goes directly to the hospital projects local labourers are hired to carry out necessary work.
In 2021 The Romanby Family Room opened at the Friarage and this summer will see the opening of a Secret Garden funded by Cowtonbury.
Beth said: "The garden is going to be an ongoing project for us as we didn’t want to simply build something and then forget about it, we will be re planting three times a year so the garden is beautiful throughout the year.
"We will be looking to improve the space with feedback from the users and of course we will be working closely with Northdale who will be providing the maintenance work throughout the year.
"However we aren’t stopping there, once the garden is finished we will be undertaking our next project at the hospital and are still in the hope that sometime in the not to distant future we will be able to create the first Palliative Care Oasis suite within the Friarage."
Tickets for Cowtonbury cost £20, with a group booking discount, and can be bought by calling 01325-378349.
