The best spas in the country have been revealed by the Good Spa Guide Awards, as Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall takes home the award for Best Spa for Innovation.

The annual Good Spa Guide Awards shine a light on the best spa days up and down the country - voted for by the British public.

The awards are broken down into several categories: Best Spa Day, Best Hotel Spa, Best Health Club, Best Spa for Wellness, Best Spa for Sustainability, Best Spa for Innovation, Best Destination Spa, Best Boutique Spa, and Best Spa for Guest Experience.

Voting for the winner of each closed June 5 at 9pm and winners were announced at the Spa Life conference on June 20.

The award for Best Spa for Innovation was sponsored by OTO.

Serenity Spa has a 4.5 rating on Tripadvisor with more than 40 different spa treatments to choose from.

One reviewer said: "When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who explained the process in place due to covid.

"They made us feel at ease immediately and drinks were offered. We were pleased to see some of the new features in the spa and especially loved the new outdoor area."

It is one of many awards handed to Serenity Spa - which previously won Best Spa for Customer Service in the Good Spa Guide Awards 2019, Best Spa for Style by The Sunday Times, Best Spa in the North East by Good Spa Guide 2016 and 2021 and Best UK Spa Destination by Conde Nast Traveller.
