Two people died in a helicopter crash near Ingleton on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales earlier today (Monday, June 20).
Where did it happen?
It happened just before noon into a field off Bentham Road near Burton in Lonsdale at the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

What was the emergency service response?
Around two dozen emergency services vehicles including fire engines, ambulances, police, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and police helicopter were sent to the scene.
What have police said?
In the late afternoon, North Yorkshire Police confirmed that two people had sadly died in the incident and the force is undertaking a full investigation.
A police spokesman said: "Two people were sadly killed as a result of the crash.
"Their families are being supported by specially trained officers.
"There is a full road closure at the A65 and at the junction of Bentham Moor Road.
"People are urged to continue to avoid the area."

Is there an investigation?
An investigation into the crash has also been launched by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
The authority issued a statment saying: "An accident involving a light helicopter near Burton in Lonsdale, North Yorkshire has been notified to the AAIB.
"An investigation has been launched and a team of inspectors are travelling to the accident site to begin making enquiries."
What did people see?
At the height of the incident, locals took to social media to describe seeing dozens of emergency service vehicles with sirens blazing speed through the normally quiet village.
Fire engines were used to block Bentham Road off to traffic and people were urged by the police to avoid the area.
