HUNDREDS of classic car owners turned out with their prized vehicles for an annual show.

The Stokesley Rotary’s Classics on Show had its biggest ever turnout, with several thousand people turning out to see the array of classic cars, bikes, tractors and even a 1930s bus.

Among the highlights was a 1925 Model T Ford racing vehicle, which was originally raced in the US and had come from Derby, and was driven down Stokesley High Street on the way to the show field.

Exhibitors came from far and wide to display their vehicles, with thousands of people enjoying the show and the sunshine.

Chris Mayes, a member of Stokesley Rotary, which organised the event, said: “We had a brilliant day. The weather certainly smiled on us and we had about 500 classic cars and motorcycles. It was a really good turnout and we had the biggest gate we’ve ever had.

“It was all run by volunteers so thanks to everyone who helped run the show and made it such a success. If we didn’t have the volunteers we wouldn’t have the show.

“We are grateful to the public who came along to. I think everyone had a good time.”

This was the 10th anniversary of the show, which raises money for Rotary charities.

Since it started, more than £60,000 has been raised for good causes.
