One person has been taken to hospital following an early morning crash on the A167 which has been closed “for the foreseeable future.”
The incident was first reported just after 3am this morning on the A167 between Junction 59 and the White Horse Hotel leading into Darlington.

The road has been closed since the incident took place and traffic is being forced to find alternative routes into the town.
North East Ambulance Service have confirmed this morning that one person has been taken to the hospital following the incident.
A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service, said: “We were called at 3:13 this morning to a one vehicle road traffic collision on the A167 in Darlington.

"We dispatched two double crewed ambulances, a specialist paramedic, a duty officer and a doctor from Great North Air Ambulance.
"One patient was taken to James Cook Hospital."
