AN appeal has been launched to find a brazen fly-tipper who illegally dumped piles of rubbish.

A man was caught on film dumping a substantial amount of household building waste on Lythe Place, Beechwood, in Middlesbrough.

The incident happened just before 5.40pm on Wednesday, June 8, when the man was seen arriving with a large trolley of the type used in DIY superstores and builders’ merchants.

After removing his bicycle from the top of the pile, he tipped out the load before leaving with trolley and bike in tow.

Now the town’s Environment and Community Services flying squad is appealing for help to track him down as part of its ongoing fly-tipping crackdown.

Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston said: “Fly-tipping blights communities and uses up vital Council resources that should be delivering vital services and supporting those in need.

“It’s criminality plain and simple and we won’t stand for it – help us find those responsible and stamp out this scourge.”
