Concertgoers are being urged to arrive with plenty of time as queues are expected and those travelling have been warned to expect road closures, limited parking around the stadium and public transport to be busier than usual.
The show will be the last time Elton ever plays in the North East.
Metro operator Nexus is running extra trains before and after the event with passengers urged to use St Peter’s and Stadium of Light stations.
