ACCORDING to the Met Office, temperatures are set to soar into the high 20s for much of the UK this week with some areas seeing as high as 29c – but will the North East and North Yorkshire see this hot weather?
By Friday, the UK could see a heatwave with temperatures soaring to nearly 30c, however, reports suggest it will be the south of the country that witnesses such high temps.

We’ve had a look to see whether the North East will experience the heatwave and what temperatures areas might expect.
Will the heatwave reach the North East?
The outlook from Wednesday to Friday will be mostly fine and dry with varying amounts of cloud and sunny spells.
Friday has the potential to be “very warm by day,” according to the weather forecaster.
Considering this, temperatures in Darlington on Friday are set to reach a high of 24c at around 4pm.
The hot weather could also continue into the evening with temperatures only dropping to 23c by 7pm and 20c by 10pm.
In more southern areas, such as Northallerton, temperatures will be even hotter on Friday.
By 4pm on Friday Northallerton will see the mercury rise as high as 26c dropping to 25c by 7pm and 20c by 10pm.

More northern areas such as Durham won’t be escaping the scorching temperatures as well with the city and surrounding areas also seeing temperatures as high as 24c at 4pm.
However, temperatures will drop to a, still warm, 19c by 10pm with a 30% chance of rain.
What’s the weather like today and tomorrow?
Sadly many will have to wait until Friday for the hotter temperatures as today is meant to be a more cloudy occasion with some sunny spells.
Some light showers are also possible in areas, however, a maximum temperature of 18c has been predicted for the region.
Temperatures will be even warmer tomorrow as the North East is in for “lengthy spells of sunshine.”
