GRIDLOCKED traffic and long congestion queues have greeted those that are travelling to Teesside Airshow on Saturday (June 11) morning – as visitors look to battle miles of other cars to get to the event.

According to Highways, the A66 towards Long Newton and the A77 near Oak Tree are experiencing delays of up to 15 minutes, with some cars seen turning around from the queues.

The event at Teesside Airport is making a return after a five-year gap and will kick off at 10am, but it seems some drivers are finding it difficult to access the event venue.

The Red Arrows, The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and an amphibious flying boat are among the displays set to take to the air on Saturday.
