IT’S an often-reported fact that house prices in the North East are consistently among the lowest in the country.
In fact, online property selling site Zoopla revealed in April that Shildon in County Durham was the UK’s most affordable place to live for the third year running, with an average house price of just £71,000.

But that’s not to say that the region isn’t home to some incredible properties offering the utmost in luxury living – for a price that unfortunately can’t be called affordable for the majority of us.
Here we’ve taken a look at some of the homes in our area currently on the market on Zoopla for upwards of £2million to see what the big money can buy in the North East and North Yorkshire.
