A PRIZED art print from notorious street artist Banksy will go under the hammer in the North East later this month – with the artwork expected to bring around at least £30,000.
Following the record-breaking sale of another original Banksy work, ‘Merrivale Stable’, earlier this year, Newcastle Auction House Anderson and Garland will now offer up another piece from the anonymous artist that is famed for his iconic and often political take on art.
On Thursday, June 16, the Newcastle-based auctioneers will be offering a special limited-edition print of one of his most famous works, ‘Love Rat’.

Numbered 335/600, the Screenprint, which was originally a graffiti piece in Liverpool, is offered for sale as part of The Modern Art and Design Auction, which will also see ten smaller Banksy-related lots available.
The auction sales for each piece will start at 10am.
“This exciting piece carries an estimated of £30,000 - £50,000, however as one of the most sought after and iconic of Banksy’s designs, the sky really is the limit!” said Julian Thomson, Managing Director of Anderson & Garland.
“Following the successful launch of our Urban Art Department earlier this year, and the fantastic result achieved with the sale of Banksy’s Merrivale Stable in January, we’ve really put out the name on the map with Urban Art collectors.”
