RISHI Sunak was spotted at Vue Cinema in Darlington last week when a group of local lads went to see Top Gun: Maverick.
The Year 10 boys from Carmel College in Darlington went to the pictures to see the new film and were gobsmacked to see the Chancellor of the Exchequer queueing for popcorn on the evening of Tuesday, May 31.
They instantly recognised him and decided to approach him for a picture.

The boys described Mr Sunak as being nice and although he was perhaps a little overdressed for a Tuesday evening in Darlington, he happily posed for a photo with them.
The mother of Luca Smith Lemaitre, 15, said the boys thought Rishi was perhaps just a few years older than them.
Mr Sunak has spent time in the North East last week as he was working from Darlington Economic Campus where he met new Treasury staff and toured the new offices.
