EMERGENCY services are on the scene after a collision between a car and a cyclist.
The alarm was raised at 11am on Monday morning at Front Street in Framwellgate Moor near Durham.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Officers are currently on scene alongside colleagues from fire and air ambulance."
North East Ambulance Service said a paramedic crew, specialist rapid response paramedic and an officer were dispatched to the scene.
A spokesman for the service said: "We also dispatched the air ambulance. They flew the the patient to the RVI in Newcastle."
The cyclist's condition was described as 'serious'.
