A DRIVER was taken to hospital following a one-vehicle crash in Darlington.
Police were called shortly after 4pm on Sunday, June 5 to reports of a collision in Yarm Road.
The driver of a red Volkswagen Golf lost control of the vehicle and collided with a wall and a pedestrian crossing pole, a spokesperson for Durham Police said.

The spokesperson added that the driver was taken to Darlington Memorial hospital with injuries and the vehicle was recovered.
Onlookers reported seeing the car swerve and crash.

A number of bystanders gathered to assist the driver of the vehicle at the scene.
The front of the Golf was badly crumpled and the wall and pedestrian crossing pole were both damaged in the incident.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly after 4pm yesterday (June 5) to a one-vehicle collision on Yarm Road, Darlington.
"It involved a red Volkswagen Golf which lost control and collided with a wall and a pedestrian crossing pole.
"The driver was taken to Darlington Memorial hospital with injuries and the vehicle was recovered."
