SHOP workers were left shaken after a man threatened them with a weapon before stealing a "substantial amount" of cash.
Police are investigating the suspected robbery at a Middlesbrough post office on Saturday.
Officers were called to the Whale Hill Post Office on Birchington Avenue, in Eston, near Middlesbrough following the incident, which happened just before 7pm.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "A man threatened staff members with a weapon and stole a substantial amount of cash from the till. Thankfully although left shaken, no one was injured during the incident."

The suspect is described as white, around 6 feet tall, of medium build and wearing a head covering with holes for the nose, eyes and mouth.
He had a black plasticky coat with the hood up and it is described as black at the top, fading into grey further down. He was also wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and black gloves.
If anyone was in the area around that time (just before 7pm on Saturday evening, 4th June) or has dash cam or CCTV which could help ongoing enquiries, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the 101-number quoting Ref 095328.
