A MAN is fighting for his life following a crash between a lorry and a car on the A1 near Morpeth on Monday (May 31).
Officers investigating the serious collision have issued an appeal for witnesses or any motorists who might have dashcam footage.
At 2.30pm on Monday Police received a report of a collision involving a car and a lorry in Northumberland on the A1 southbound near the A697 Longhorsley turn off.

Emergency services attended the area and the driver of the car, a 60-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical conditional at this time.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: An investigation into the circumstances leading up to the collision has been launched by officers from Northumbria Police’s Motor Patrols department and a number of enquiries already carried out.
Officers are now asking for anyone with information, or motorists who might have dashcam footage to get in touch.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A1 northbound shortly before 2.30pm this afternoon.
We dispatched one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient has been flown to the RVI for further treatment."
