PRIME Minister Boris Johnson was all smiles as he visited Stockton-on-Tees a little earlier today (May 27) – calling in the region for the first time since cost-of-living measures and the Sue Gray report came on the agenda.
Taking in a tour of DTN Training Academy in the town’s industrial estate, Mr Johnson shared a laugh with a few workers at the skills centre, before speaking with Therese Coffey, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, and Stockton South MP, Matt Vickers, who had accompanied him on his visit.

Donning a Hi-Viz jacket, the PM was in the North East as part of the Way to Work project, which is looking to get millions of people into work nationally, including in Teesside and the wider North East.

As well as touring the site, Mr Johnson was quizzed about the Sue Gray report and cost of living measures, while questions were also asked about the Department for Work and Pensions and the ‘condensing’ of services that its undertaking in the North East.
After taking in the DTN Training Academy, the Prime Minister was spotted on Stockton high street, where he was stopped by members of the public who were after pictures of the politician.
